Deputies from 18 municipal districts signed a demand for Putin to resign.


In Russia, municipal deputies from 18 districts of Moscow and St. Petersburg signed a public statement demanding the resignation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The corresponding document was published by Ksenia Torstrem, a deputy of the St. Petersburg municipality "Semenovsky", who is collecting signatures.

"We, the municipal deputies of Russia, believe that the actions of President Vladimir Putin harm the future of Russia and its citizens. We demand the resignation of Vladimir Putin from the post of President of the Russian Federation!" - said in a statement.

Russian journalist Elena Rukovtseva confirmed the information and added that things seem to be heading towards the "Great October Revolution, which will again come from St. Petersburg."

"Deputies from another 18 municipal districts signed a demand for Putin to resign. They joined those from the Smolninsky Defense Ministry who accused him of treason," she said.

The council of the Smolninskoye municipality in St. Petersburg called on the State Duma of the Russian Federation to bring charges of high treason against President Vladimir Putin.
