In the Black Sea, a ship under the Panamanian flag exploded on a Russian mine. The bulk carrier was en route to load grain at one of the Danube ports.
This was reported by the Southern Defense Forces on December 28.
The vessel lost propulsion and steering, and a fire broke out on the upper deck. To prevent sinking, the captain grounded the ship on a shoal, as reported by the military.
Two sailors were injured. One received assistance on the spot, and the other was transported to the nearest hospital. His condition is satisfactory.
Tugboats have been dispatched to the ship to remove it from the shoal and transport it to the port.
