On the initiative of the wife of the President of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, the second Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen dedicated to the post-war reconstruction of the country will be held on July 23. The event is planned in the format of a telebridge between different countries of the world: Ukraine, Poland, Belgium, Great Britain and the United States.
In the framework of the Summit, the First Lady will raise funds for C-type ambulances, which will help save the lives of thousands of people in Ukraine. The fundraising will take place through the United24 platform.
"How many ambulance vehicles do we need? Today there are an estimated 400. Is that enough? Not sure. The war does not end. Ambulance vehicles rescue people under shelling, take out the wounded on roads that have been destroyed by explosions. Doctors risk their lives and, together with the vehicles, actually become participants in hostilities," Olena Zelenska said.
Such vehicles are equipped with everything necessary to transport the seriously wounded to the hospital: oxygen tanks, cardiac monitors and defibrillators, electrocardiographs and ventilators. The approximate cost of one such vehicle is EUR 100,000.
"Many countries will be represented at the Summit: first persons, international experts and world-class celebrities will join via video link or in person. The summit will be broadcasted in more than 20 countries. So we are hopeful for a great response worldwide. First of all, to cover the medical needs of the front and rear, to help doctors and patients," Olena Zelenska explained.
The Second Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen is designed to once again draw the world's attention to the full-scale war that has been ongoing for the fifth month in the center of Europe. The main theme of this year's event will be human. After all, it is the preservation and restoration of human capital that is the key to the successful recovery of the country.
