In the city of Toretsk in the Donetsk region, where not a single building remains intact, around 40 people still live. The military is urging them to evacuate, but they refuse to leave.
This was reported on live television by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin.
"Currently, about 40 people remain in Toretsk, and around 140 in the wider community. It is nearly impossible for civilians to enter the city, as all access routes are under fire, and active combat is taking place inside the city itself… Not a single building in the city is intact," the regional head said.
He noted that only thanks to the Ukrainian military, those who remain in the city are receiving drinking water, food packages, and medicines.
"All of this humanitarian aid is possible thanks to the support of the military. They are also trying to persuade people in the city to evacuate, but the residents refuse to leave," Filashkin added.
