Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant has issued an order for a complete blockade of Gaza: there will be no deliveries of food or energy.
"I have ordered a full siege of the Gaza Strip. There will be no electricity, no food, and no fuel; everything will be closed. We are dealing with people-animals and will act accordingly," he said today after a meeting of the Southern Command of the IDF in Beersheba.
He stated that "the rules of war have changed," and Israel's response to the Gaza Strip will be so powerful that it will be remembered for the next 50 years.
Earlier on Monday, it became known that Israel had mobilized about 300,000 reservists within 48 hours for an upcoming ground operation in Gaza. This is the largest mobilization in Israel's history within such a short period.
An IDF representative, Daniel Hagari, stated that in the past few hours, there have only been isolated clashes between Israeli soldiers and Hamas militants in border towns. Currently, there are no ongoing combat operations in these areas
