Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori to discuss prospects for further cooperation in the agricultural sector, in particular Japanâs support for Ukrainian farmers, as well as assistance to Ukrainian agriculture in general.
Japan will consider the possibility of assisting Ukraine in the field of power supply. Japan has also developed a number of initiatives to ensure successful sowing campaign in our country. It will also consider the needs of Ukraine in power generators and seeds.
The parties also discussed prospects of support by the Government of Japan of the land reclamation program in Ukraine, which is currently the main priority for the national agriculture.
Another topic of discussion was the implementation of the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian mission initiated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to provide at least 5 million people in Africa and Asia with grain. Japan welcomes this food program and will fully support it, reaffirming the strategic importance of Ukrainian grain supplies for global food security and prevention of hunger.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori expressed confidence in Ukraineâs victory in the full-scale war and emphasized that Japan is interested in further strengthening relations with Ukraine. The parties agreed to enhance cooperation in agricultural and related spheres, including introduction of new technologies, development of machine building and overall entrepreneurship in Ukraine.
