The company Irrigator Ukraine specializes in underground drip irrigation, and 90% of such projects implemented in Ukraine have been carried out by this company.
This was reported by the head of the commercial department of Irrigator Ukraine, Oleg Kurakin, during the roundtable "Problematic Issues of Irrigation on Farms."
“These are large initial investments, but such equipment is designed for 20 years with low water and fertilizer consumption, and it provides additional yields and profits, especially when the price of corn is above $200 per ton,” noted Oleg Kurakin.
According to him, the total labor shortage is forcing farmers to automate irrigation systems. Based on the company’s experience, the number of such projects has increased by 300%.
“Now we can manage irrigation via radio signals using smartphones. So, one worker is enough for 200 hectares of potatoes or corn. We have also established the production of mobile and autonomous fertigation fields and devices for forced fertilizer delivery,” Oleg Kurakin summarized.
