On April 22-24, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solsky paid a working visit to the Republic of Latvia.
During the visit, Mykola Solsky met with the Minister of Agriculture of Latvia Kaspars Gerhards and visited the Riga and Ventspils free ports and the special economic zone of Liepaja.
The Minister got acquainted with the port and logistics infrastructure of Latvia and discussed the possibilities of exporting products of Ukrainian farmers with the help of Latvian ports.
During the visit, Mykola Solsky also met with representatives of Latvian local governments, representatives of Latvian port administrations, operators of grain terminals, and grain trading companies in Latvia.
We will remind, earlier, the President of Latvia Egils Levits noted that Latvia could help Ukraine with the export of grain through the Latvian ports. He also expressed full support for the Presidents of the Baltic States and Poland in granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership and adopting this decision under the accelerated procedure.
