Kęstutis Budrys, an advisor to the President of Lithuania, stated that the Lithuanian authorities are holding Russian intelligence services responsible for a series of explosive packages sent to European countries.

According to Ziniu, Budrys emphasized that Lithuania is actively informing its allies, asserting that these incidents are not accidental and are considered part of Russia's military operations, which require a response from NATO.

This is the first official statement from Lithuania directly accusing Russian intelligence services. Previously, Western countries and intelligence agencies had only speculated about Russia's involvement in a series of sabotage operations aimed at destabilizing Ukraine's allies.

The incidents with the packages began in July 2024, when fires broke out at courier warehouses in the UK and Germany, and a truck exploded in Poland. In October, Polish media outlet Gazeta Wyborcza reported that the packages were allegedly sent from Lithuania.

As part of the investigation, four suspects have been detained. Preliminary information suggests that the ultimate goal of the organizers was to send explosive packages to the United States and Canada.
