After the completion of the TAL+ project and a significant increase in the capacity of the Transalpine Pipeline (TAL), it will be possible to terminate all deliveries through the "Druzhba" pipeline from Russia. This was announced by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Josef Sikela (STAN), during a meeting with Czech ambassadors at the ÄŒernín Palace on Monday.

In July, the state-owned company Mero started project work to expand the capacities of TAL. At the moment, they have selected some suppliers and technologies. Starting from 2025, the project with a cost of 1.6 billion Czech crowns (65.5 million euros) is expected to increase Czech capacities by 4 million tons of oil per year, allowing up to 8 million tons of oil to be supplied to the country through the pipeline annually. Oil flows through the TAL pipeline from Trieste to Ingolstadt in Bavaria, from where it enters the Czech Republic through the IKL pipeline.
