The Ministry of Defense is working to ensure that at least 20 countries join the drone coalition. Currently, the coalition has 8 partner countries.
During the briefing summarizing the meeting with 30 military attachés from partner countries, Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization Katerina Chernogorenko provided this information.
"We can state that the drone coalition has officially been launched at the latest 'Ramstein.' We have two founding countries - Latvia and the United Kingdom. We are very grateful to our partners for this leadership, for proposing to take this significant step towards our victory, towards the development of unmanned systems. Currently, we have 8 countries that have joined the drone coalition," she said.
According to Chernogorenko, the work of the Drone Coalition is currently progressing in three directions - procurement of Ukrainian-made drones through financial assistance from partners, supply of ready-made drones to partner countries, and joint work on technological solutions that need to be implemented for the effective operation of these systems.
She emphasized that during the meeting with military attachés, the Ministry of Defense presented a report on the work of the Drone Coalition over the past 2 months, as well as the vision of what Ukraine wants to achieve in unmanned systems.
The Deputy Minister of Defense expressed hope that the result of the work with military attachés will be the involvement of a larger number of partner countries in the coalition.
