Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov met with Minister for Digital of Japan Karen Makishima. This was the first official meeting between the ministries of the two countries.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed areas of cooperation, in particular in the digital format, ministers of G7, which Japan will chair next year. The Ministry of Digital Transformation is interested in deepening cooperation and exchanging best practices in the development of the IT industry and e-government.
The Ministry for Digital appeared in Japan only last year, so we are ready to export the experience of rapid digital transformation in Ukraine. And later we plan to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between the ministries.
We have been building a digital state for almost 3 years. And even despite the full-scale invasion, we continue to introduce new services given the needs of Ukrainians. Japan is also now focusing on the digital transformation and improvement of public services. We are ready to share the Ukrainian experience and our best solutions
Mykhailo Fedorov
Today, the world's first cyber war continues, and Ukraine manages to successfully defend the country's digital borders. Therefore, Japan is interested in the experience of the Ministry in the field of cyber security as well as support of critical infrastructure.
Besides, modern warfare implies modern solutions: IT army, cryptocurrency fund, digital blockade, Starlink. We are grateful to Japanese companies for their support - exit from the russian market and donations for humanitarian purposes. Hence, we are preparing proposals on how they can help Ukraine in its confrontation with russia.
