Montenegro supports Ukraine on its way to NATO. This was stated by Minister of Internal Affairs, Acting Minister of Defense of Montenegro Filip AdžiÄ, head of the delegation visiting Kyiv on November 23, following the meeting with Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov.
âToday Ukraine is fighting for the freedom of the entire European continent. We admire the courage of Ukrainian defenders. We are always with you. Our country is a good friend of your people. Montenegro supports the aspiration of Ukrainians to become a full member of NATO. We will be your advocates not only in the Balkans, but also in the Alliance and Europe,â Filip AdžiÄ emphasized.
The parties discussed provision of further support to Ukraine in the fight against the aggressor and implementation of bilateral projects in the defense sector.
Oleksii Reznikov expressed gratitude to the people and the Government of Montenegro for the comprehensive support and assistance provided to Ukraine in defending sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
âThe people of Montenegro, who have gone through a thorny path in their struggle for independence, understand Ukraine, which today is defending its freedom, like no other. European security depends on unshakable solidarity of all democratic countries united to protect universal values. Together we will overcome the aggressor,â the Minister of Defense of Ukraine noted.
The event was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to Ukraine Dragica Ponorac, State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Montenegro Kristo PeroviÄ, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Montenegro Colonel Željko RaduloviÄ and Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Polishchuk.
