Tens of thousands of Ukrainian citizens agreed to help rescuers dismantle the rubble and clean the streets in the cities destroyed by the Russian invaders.

As noted in the State Emergency Service, more than 10 thousand volunteer rescuers are already there.

"That's how many people have registered on the website of the State Emergency Service to help rebuild the country," the report says.

The service noted that volunteers are now working in the Kyiv region, particularly in places where the territories have been cleared of mines.

"This is mainly search work, cleaning the streets from building materials, removing rubble," the State Emergency Service added.

As of April 11, it was known that more than 8 thousand citizens expressed their desire to be volunteer rescuers. More than half of the applicants are from Kyiv and the Kyiv region.

Volunteers are warned that it is not possible to involve everyone at the same time since it is dangerous - the territory where the shelling took place is often mined.

"At the same time, due to the mining of settlements and ecosystems by the troops of the Russian Federation, local authorities and self-government authorities cannot involve everyone until work is carried out to clear territories and houses from explosive objects," the State Emergency Service noted.
