Stoltenberg said Russian President Vladimir Putin made a mistake when he attacked Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed the opinion that the normalization of relations between Western countries and Russia is impossible even after the end of the war unleashed by the country against Ukraine.

"It won't be like before. Even if the guns fall silent in Ukraine, we should not expect our relations with Russia to normalize," Stoltenberg said in an interview with the German newspaper Handelsblatt.

Stoltenberg also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin made a mistake when he attacked Ukraine.

"He overestimated the strength of his own armed forces. We see their mistakes, lack of morale, leadership problems, poor equipment," he said, noting that the Russians have shown they are willing to take heavy losses to achieve their goals.
