The Netherlands and Denmark will send 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine this summer, with repairs and testing completed in recent months.
Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced that these tanks, purchased jointly with Denmark and refurbished by the German firm Rheinmetall, will aid Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
While two tanks are still undergoing final tests, the first 12 are ready for shipment. All 14 tanks are expected to arrive by the end of summer.
"Ukraine urgently needs additional military support due to intense fighting. These tanks can play a crucial role in defending the Ukrainian army against Russian forces," stated Brekelmans. He emphasized that the Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine alongside allies and partners for as long as necessary.
