Night attack by drones: in the Odessa and Sumy regions, air defense forces destroyed 32 drones, and 7 people were injured

On the night of September 12th to 13th, Russian terrorists launched attack drones for shelling Ukraine. The air defense forces destroyed 32 drones.

The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine report: "On the night of September 13, 2023, Russian occupiers attacked the Odessa and Sumy regions with several groups of attack drones of the Shahed-136/131 type in three directions: Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Cape Chauda, and Kursk."

It is noted that the terrorists launched a total of 44 drones. The main target chosen by the occupiers was the southern districts of Odessa and the port infrastructure of the region.

"The defense against the attack involved fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine," added the statement.

Odessa Region

"For 4.5 hours during the night, the enemy launched attacks on Odessa region using attack drones, once again targeting the civilian infrastructure of Danube region," report the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine.

However, there was a direct hit on the port infrastructure. As a result, non-residential buildings were damaged, and a fire broke out in the cargo transport parking area.

Additionally, 7 civilian drivers were transported to a medical facility with injuries of varying severity.

Reports of the launches of "shaheeds" were made by the Air Forces after 22:00. Around 00:30, a state of emergency was declared in the Odessa region.

"Several groups of attack drones were directed towards the Izmail district. Unfortunately, there have been hits, and damage to the port and other civilian infrastructure has been recorded. Efforts to mitigate the consequences are ongoing. Rescue teams are battling the fire," reported the Odesa Regional Administration.

It is known that 6 civilians have been injured as a result of Russian shelling. Three individuals are in serious condition, and three are in moderate condition, receiving all necessary medical assistance.

Black Sea 

The Defense Forces have confirmed the launch of "shaheeds" and added information about the threat of cruise missiles in the Black Sea.

"In the Black Sea, there is one surface missile carrier on combat duty, armed with up to 8 Kalibr-type missiles. Other information circulating in public sources is not reliable," stated the message.

Sumy and Chernihiv Regions

In the Sumy Regional Administration, it was reported that the air defense forces have destroyed 3 "shaheeds" over the region.

At 2:31 AM, the Air Forces issued a warning of danger in the Sumy region.

"Sumy Region - threat of the use of attack drones!" the statement from the Air Forces declared.

At 2:54 AM, drones were detected over Sumy. A similar threat warning was also issued for Chernihiv Region.

The danger persisted until 4:48 AM
