Night drone attack on Odessa: 2 Killed, 15 Injured

As a result of a drone attack carried out by the Russian army during the night of Thursday, May 1, two people were killed and another 15 were injured in Odessa.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service on Facebook.

"Residential apartment buildings, private houses, a supermarket, a school, and passenger cars were damaged," the statement reads. Fires broke out at the sites of impact, which were promptly extinguished by firefighters in cooperation with volunteers and the National Guard.

In one of the apartment buildings, rescuers, together with cooperating services, evacuated more than 200 people.

 

 

Also during the night of May 1, railway infrastructure came under Russian attack — on one of the sections, the tracks, overhead lines, and three freight cars were damaged. This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia on Facebook.

According to the company, there were no casualties at workplaces. However, as a result of the strike on Odessa, a railway worker was killed in his own home.

"We extend our condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased, and we will support the family," Ukrzaliznytsia stated.

It was reported that passenger trains in the region are running on schedule.

Freight trains are being redirected via alternative routes. Urgent repair work is being carried out to ensure they can reach the ports without obstruction.
