Norway wants to assist Ukraine in its war against Russian aggression and is doing everything possible to improve air defense and support the energy system.
This was stated by Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide at a joint briefing in Kyiv with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
"None of us are doing enough. We need to do more, do better, and think more strategically about how to help Ukraine win and Russia lose, as well as to ensure Ukraine can maintain its territory, sovereignty, independence, and make independent decisions," said Barth Eide, emphasizing the importance of these opportunities for Norway and all democratic forces in Europe.
The Norwegian Foreign Minister assured that his country is doing everything possible to expedite the production of missiles for the Norwegian NASAMS air defense system and is engaging with various parties to determine how Norway can be helpful in providing more Patriot missiles to Ukraine.
Barth Eide also discussed with his Ukrainian counterpart the issue of supporting the integrity of the energy system, how to assist in repairing generators, transformers, and power grid systems in the near future, and how to build a more extensive and reliable energy production system.
