The offensive potential of the Russian army is practically exhausted, and the occupiers are switching to old Soviet weapons and taking anyone into their ranks.

Military expert Oleg Zhdanov said this during a broadcast with Russian human rights activist Mark Feigin.

"The Russian invaders are exhausted in terms of offensive potential. In terms of defense potential, they very much doubt their ability to withstand if the Armed Forces of Ukraine go on the offensive. There is a rebalancing - in the opposite direction," the expert noted.

According to him, the Russian command assembles "stomach division" on old weapons.

"This is the terminology of the Second World War. Hitler called the last wave of mobilization "gastric battalions" because they suffered most from stomach diseases, consuming army food in the field. These uncles, who are shown on Russian television, are my peers. I am already over 50. So this is the degradation of personnel. These are not regular military men - young contract soldiers who are well trained and serve for more than a month or a year. And if they have combat experience participating in armed conflicts, this is generally priceless. And Sobyanin's regiment is another chance to rid Moscow of the homeless people," Zhdanov notes.

The military expert stated that the Russians had run out of modern military equipment and had nothing to replace it with.

"The Russians rushed to remove equipment from storage warehouses. There, a violation of storage conditions led to the fact that the equipment did not survive before the war. It actually requires a major overhaul. They assemble the so-called "third battalions" equipment in military units. This is what is usually done in units stands in anticipation of repair. We thought that she was in the best condition, but there is the same picture," he said.
