Oleksandr Shovkovskyi has been appointed as the acting head coach of "Dynamo" after the resignation of Mircea Lucescu, as reported on the official website of the Kyiv football club on November 4.
It is known that Shovkovsky will prepare the team for the upcoming matches in the Ukrainian championship.
In the coaching staff of the 48-year-old Oleksandr Shovkovskyi, Emil Karas, Oleg Husyev, and Mykhailo Mykhailov will also work.
Previously, Shovkovskyi had already served as the acting head coach when Mircea Lucescu underwent leg surgery and was on medical leave last year.
Oleksandr Shovkovskyi spent most of his career at the "Dynamo" club. He currently holds the seventh position among the players who have played the most matches for the national team of Ukraine. Additionally, the new coach is one of the four goalkeepers in the history of football who have played 100 or more matches in the UEFA Champions League.
On November 3, Mircea Lucescu announced that he was resigning from the position of head coach of the Kyiv football club "Dynamo." The 78-year-old Romanian coach made this announcement during a press conference following the 13th round match of the 2023/24 Ukrainian championship season against Donetsk's "Shakhtar," which the Kyiv team lost with a score of 0:1.
