On October 30-31, Canada will host a thematic conference on the fourth point of the Peace Formula “Release of Prisoners and Deported Persons”. This date was agreed upon during the online conversation of the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Mélanie Joly.

The participants of the video meeting discussed the format of the event, the list of countries that will be invited to participate, the agenda and the expected outcomes. The Kingdom of Norway will co-organize the event with Canada.

“We must find a solution for all groups held by Russia: civilians, prisoners of war and children,” Andriy Yermak said.

The parties also agreed on further cooperation in preparing the conference.

In addition, Andriy Yermak thanked Mélanie Joly for her attention to the working group dedicated to this point of the Peace Formula and for the leadership within the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.

The Ukrainian side was also represented by Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha, Deputy Heads of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva and Iryna Vereshchuk, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Yuliya Kovaliv, Advisers to the Head of the Presidential Office Dariia Zarivna and Oleksandr Bevz, and  Head of Projects at Bring Kids Back UA Maksym Maksymov.
