In Poland, in the city of Åwidnik in the Lublin Voivodeship, located near the border with Ukraine, a new airbase will be established. Helicopters will be stationed there on a permanent basis.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Poland.
On March 25, at the Lublin airport, Deputy Prime Minister of Poland and Minister of Defense, Vladyslav Kosinyak-Kamysh, signed a letter of intent on cooperation between the Ministry of National Defense and the Lublin Voivodeship.
"We have just signed a letter of intent between the Ministry of National Defense and the city of Lublin, Lublin Voivodeship, and Lublin Airport regarding an investment planned here by the Polish Armed Forces - the establishment of a permanent helicopter aviation base for the Land Forces here in Åwidnik, at Lublin Airport, which will serve the needs of the Polish Armed Forces," he said.
According to the Minister of Defense, this permanent base will be located on an area of ââ100 hectares, which will be established under an agreement between the Ministry of National Defense and local government partners.
Åwidnik is a city in eastern Poland, the administrative center of Åwidnik County in the Lublin (Province) Voivodeship.
