Russia is testing missiles for North Korea in the war against Ukraine, similar to how they previously tested Shahed drones for Iran, which were later used against Israel.
According to the Center for Strategic Communications Spravdi, experts from the United Nations confirmed that on January 2, Russia struck Kharkiv with a North Korean ballistic missile, the Hwasong-11.
North Korea is under international sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council for threatening its neighbors with missile attacks. Therefore, Russia's acquisition of North Korean missiles constitutes a blatant violation of the sanctions regime.
Furthermore, Russia vetoed the extension of the UN expert group's mandate from May, which monitored compliance with sanctions against North Korea. This indicates Moscow's attempt to conceal its cooperation with North Korea and disregard international obligations.
"Russia is testing North Korean missiles in Ukraine just as it tested 'Shahed' missiles for Iran before they were used against Israel," the statement said.
