Russia launches widespread strikes across multiple Ukrainian regions

Throughout November 30 and early December 1, Russian forces continued their assaults across Ukraine, leaving civilians injured and damaging residential and critical infrastructure in several regions. Local authorities provided updates on the scale of the attacks.

Odessa region

On the night of Monday, December 1, Russian forces attacked the Odessa region with strike drones, causing fires in two buildings. This was reported on Facebook by the regional State Emergency Service.

“Russia attacked Odessa region with strike drones. As a result of the impacts, fires broke out in two separate buildings, which firefighters quickly extinguished,” the report said.

The emergency service added that there were no casualties or injuries.

Zaporizhzhia Region
The Zaporizhzhia region experienced 752 attacks on 20 settlements, reported Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional military administration. Russian forces carried out 21 airstrikes on towns including Veselyanka, Hryhorivka, Kosivtseve, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Dobropillia, and Luhivske. Around 408 UAVs, mostly FPV drones, targeted Novomykolaivka, Stepnohorsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Huliaipole, and other settlements. Five MLRS strikes hit Malokaterynivka, Huliaipole, Varvarivka, and Solodke, while 318 artillery strikes affected multiple communities.

Ten reports were received of damaged apartments and private homes, but no civilian injuries were recorded.

Mykolaiv Region
In Mykolaiv, a Shahed drone attack on the morning of November 30 caused a fire on the roof of a multi-storey residential building. Vitaliy Kim, head of the regional administration, said all emergency services responded promptly, and there were no casualties.

Russian attacks also damaged nine trucks, two tractors, two cars, a combine harvester, and the windows of a country house. Fires in warehouse premises were extinguished, and three FPV drone attacks targeted the Ochakiv community. Artillery strikes also hit the Kutsurub community without causing casualties.

Kherson Region
Nine people, including a child, were injured in Kherson region due to Russian attacks, reported Oleksandr Prokudin. The strikes targeted residential areas and critical infrastructure, damaging 12 apartment buildings, 20 private houses, a cell tower, an outbuilding, a gas pipeline, a trolleybus, a private garage, and several cars. Communities affected included Antonivka, Sadove, Prydniprovskе, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Sofiivka, Shyroka Balka, Dniprovske, Kizomys, Veletenske, Yantarne, Nadiyivka, Mykilske, Ivanivka, Poniativka, and the city of Kherson.

Donetsk Region
Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Administration, reported one civilian injured in Lyman. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 3,744 residents have been killed and 8,502 injured, excluding casualties in Mariupol and Volnovakha.

Dnipropetrovsk Region
In Pavlohrad and Nikopol districts, drone and artillery strikes caused infrastructure damage and fires. An attack in Ternivka, Pavlohrad district, led to a fire and damage to local infrastructure. Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka, and Pokrovske communities were targeted with artillery and FPV drones. There were no reported civilian casualties, according to Vladyslav Haivanenko, acting head of the regional administration.

Chernihiv Region
Drone attacks in Chernihiv injured two people. In Koriukivka district, a woman was hospitalized following a fire at an infrastructure facility. Two additional strikes in Chernihiv district caused a residential house, an outbuilding, and a car to catch fire, with one woman requiring medical attention.

Sumy Region
Over 50 strikes hit 32 settlements in 14 communities, with the highest number of attacks in Sumy and Shostka districts. Civil infrastructure, apartment buildings, private houses, and vehicles were damaged in multiple communities, including Sumy, Vorozhbyanska, Bilopilska, Krasnopilska, Mykolaivska rural, Seredyno-Budska, Hlukhivska, Shalyhynska, and Znob-Novhorodska.

Kharkiv Region
Four people were injured across nine settlements. In Kozacha Lopan, two men, aged 36 and 39, were wounded, and in Martove, two women, aged 47 and 74, were injured. Medics also assisted a previously injured man in Kupiansk. Russian forces used three guided bombs, six Gerbera drones, four FPV drones, and five UAVs of unspecified type.
