Russian army attacks railway in Kharkiv region, four workers injured

In the early hours of July 20, Russian troops targeted a railway in the Kharkiv region. The attack resulted in injuries to four railway workers, according to Ukrzaliznytsia.

"The strikes damaged the contact network near Kharkiv, affecting train services. Trains on the Kyiv-Kharkiv routes 63 and 719 were delayed while repairs were underway. Overnight, service was resumed, and trains are now heading towards the capital. Additionally, the Intercity train to Kramatorsk is also delayed," the company reported.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine with three ground-based Iskander-M ballistic missiles, one Iskander-K cruise missile, 16 Shahed drones, and one unidentified drone. The attack targeted the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions.

The Air Force destroyed 12 out of 16 Shahed drones and one unidentified drone, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Railway workers in the Kharkiv region are continuing to repair the damaged sections following the recent attack. Despite the ongoing repairs, train services have been reopened.

Russian military forces continue to attack Ukrainian regions using various types of weaponry, including strike drones, missiles, aerial bombs, and multiple rocket launchers.
