Yesterday, a Russian missile and drone strike on Kryvyi Rih killed 19 people, including 9 children.

Two children who were wounded yesterday in the strike on Kryvyi Rih were brought to Mechnikov Hospital in extremely critical condition.

This was reported on Telegram by the head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul.

“As a result of the terrorist attacks, 68 people were injured — from a 3-month-old baby to elderly people. Forty are currently in hospitals (two children aged 5 and 8 were taken to Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipro in extremely critical condition). Of those hospitalized in our city, 17 are in serious condition, including 2 children. Doctors are fighting for their lives and providing all necessary assistance,” he wrote.

Thirty-four apartment buildings, six educational institutions, shops, businesses, infrastructure facilities, vehicles, and one private house were damaged. The destruction is extensive — data is still being clarified. Emergency response efforts continued throughout the night and were completed by 2:45 a.m.

The Russians struck Kryvyi Rih with an Iskander-M ballistic missile equipped with a cluster warhead, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This type of missile is designed to hit a wide area and cause maximum casualties. It struck a residential neighborhood and a children’s playground.

At the same time, Russia’s Ministry of Defense claims the strike targeted a “meeting place of Ukrainian unit commanders and Western instructors.” The Ukrainian General Staff denies this, emphasizing that the missile hit civilians — another violation of international humanitarian law.
