The head of the intelligence department noted that the weaknesses of the Russian army were revealed in Ukraine.
The Russian military is regrouping in eastern Ukraine and planning to advance towards Kharkiv.
This was announced by the head of military intelligence of Ukraine Kirill Budanov in a comment to CNN.
"They are regrouping towards Izyum through Belgorod. They are moving through Belgorod. They are bringing additional troops into Belgorod to compensate for their losses in Ukraine," Budanov said.
"They plan to attack Kharkov first of all. They will try to finish off the city of Mariupol and only after that they can try to attack Kyiv on their own initiative," he said.
Budanov called on Ukraine's allies to provide "really serious" military support to help counter the Russian offensive. He said that heavy artillery, anti-aircraft missile systems and combat aircraft are needed to be used "against the Russian ground forces."
"Ukraine needs really serious support with heavy weapons, and we need it not tomorrow, we need it today," he said.
Budanov noted that the weaknesses of the Russian army were revealed in Ukraine. According to him, Russian troops were defeated in the Kyiv region, and logistics hampered their military efforts.
