Ukrainian defenders are gradually moving forward in the direction of Kherson, trying to hold the liberated settlements. The invaders in the Kherson region have a dangerous position as they are pressed against the right bank of the Dnieper.
This was stated by Major General of the SBU reserve, director of the Agency for Security Sector Reform Viktor Yagun, reports "Apostrophe".
"Our people are trying to hold on to the positions that we have. They are gradually advancing in some areas and are trying to hold on to those positions that have already been liberated. I hope that this preparation for possible large-scale actions in the south will lead to the liberation of Kherson. The position of the occupier on Kherson land, namely on the right bank of the Dnieper, is very shaky. They understand this and are trying with all their might to keep the situation,â Yagun explained.
The expert explains that the Russians did not plan to stop at Kherson. Now their uncertain position is playing into the hands of the Ukrainian army.
âThey had such an idea that they would pass Mykolaiv and go to Odessa. And having stopped on Kherson, they are actually pressed against the right bank of the Dnieper, they are in a very uncomfortable position. And this is precisely what our troops are actively using. I hope that this will lead to complete liberation, if not the entire Kherson region, then at least it will secure the Kryvyi Rih direction and liberate the regional center from the occupier," the general stressed.
Earlier, the People's Deputy Roman Kostenko explained what is happening in the Kherson region. According to him, the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kherson cannot be called a counteroffensive. Ukrainian fighters still have not received the required amount of weapons.
At the same time, the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine urged not to comment on the counteroffensive in the Kherson region ahead of the military command.
