The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko during a working visit to Brussels held a meeting with the EU Commissioner for Economy Affairs Paolo Gentiloni.
The parties discussed the current state of the Ukrainian financial system and economy and the issue of providing the next tranches of EU Macro-Financial Assistance.
Sergii Marchenko thanked Paolo Gentiloni for consistent and timely assistance to Ukraine during the full-scale invasion of Russia.
"The support of European colleagues is extremely necessary for the fastest victory over the aggressor in this unprovoked war. Today's signing of the Agreements between Ukraine and the EU on Ukraine's participation in the EU Customs and Fiscalis programs will be a new impulse in strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the EU", noted the Minister of Finance of Ukraine.
Sergii Marchenko also outlined the current situation in the financial area and noted that Ukraine needs additional funding to support the economy in the extremely difficult conditions of the budget deficit during wartime.

On September 5, in Brussels, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko and EU Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni, within the framework of the 8th plenary session of the Ukraine-EU Association Council, signed the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on Ukraine's participation in the European Union's Customs cooperation program and Fiscalis grogram for cooperation in the field of taxation.
Also, during the meeting, an important historical decision for Ukraine about the possibility of joining international customs conventions from October 1 this year was announced, thanks to which the "customs visa-free" will be launched.
