In 2025, seven wind power projects are under construction in Ukraine, while the total capacity of projects ready for implementation reaches 4 GW.
This was stated by Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, during the "Green Energy for Reconstruction" conference.
"This year, we have seven wind farms under construction," said Konechenkov.
In particular, construction has begun on the second phase of the Tyligulska Wind Power Plant, which remains the largest wind energy project in Ukraine to date.
Between February 2022 and the beginning of 2024, companies fully or partially built four wind power plants. Last year, only 20 MW of commercial wind generation was installed in Ukraine.
"Today we declare that there are ready-to-build projects totaling 4 GW," Konechenkov noted.
At the same time, the development of wind energy faces challenges, particularly at the legislative level. Konechenkov pointed to issues such as debt in the electricity market and the lack of buyers willing to contract electricity for long-term periods.
