Spain has launched a pilot project to transport Ukrainian grain by rail.
This is stated on the website of the Ministry of Transport of Spain.
Specifically, outbound traffic is Madrid â Ludwigshafen â Duisburg â Lodz â Chelm, while return traffic is Chelm â Lodz â Duisburg â Barcelona Can Tunis through the motorway, which involves an approximate route of 2,400 kilometers.
The logistics of the transport is planned to be carried out between Ukraine and Spain, transferring the merchandise in Chelm (Poland), 25 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
There, the merchandise will be transferred to Renfe MercancÃas containers for subsequent transfer to the terminal used by the logistics operator Kombiverker, in Lodz. The transfer between Lodz and Chelm is carried out by the Polish railway operator DBP.
