Spain has approved the supply of a new batch of tanks to Ukraine. This includes 20 Leopard 2A4 tanks.
Infodefensa reported, that Spain's Interministerial Council for Trade and Control of Defense Materials and Dual-Use Technologies has approved the transfer of 20 Leopard 2A4 combat tanks to Ukraine.
The publication specifies that the tanks, like other materials, will be prepared at the Santa Bárbara Sistemas plant in Alcalá de Guadaira in Seville before being dispatched.
"This new batch of materials may be directly related to the visit of the delegation of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine to Spain last week for negotiations with representatives of the industry and the Ministry of Defense," the publication wrote.
Spanish Minister of Trade Xiana Méndez stated that the materials being transferred to Ukraine are necessary, priority, and important weapons for combating Russia.
"There is no doubt that Ukraine will make the best use of them to defend its national security," Mendez explained.
