Support for Ukraine and Strengthening Cooperation — Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko Meets with Newly Appointed Italian Ambassador to Ukraine Carlo Formosa
The support of Italy for Ukraine and the enhancement of cooperation between the countries were the main topics of the meeting between First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko and the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa.
"We are grateful for Italy's high level of political, military, financial, and humanitarian support for our state. Ukraine highly values the significant level of mutual understanding and cooperation we have achieved in recent years. We thank Italy for its leadership during its G7 presidency and its consistent support on critical issues for us. Italy's decision to co-host the next Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) will further strengthen relations between our countries," Yulia Svyrydenko noted.
During the meeting, the parties discussed:
- Preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome, with Ukraine hoping for the expansion of initiatives announced at previous conferences in London and Berlin;
- Potential Italian membership in the Small and Medium Business Alliance;
- Involvement of Italian businesses in reconstruction and investment projects in Ukraine;
- Practical implementation of the G7 decision to provide our state with a €50 billion loan;
- Issues related to frozen Russian assets;
- Cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working on all discussed issues.
