President Volodymyr Zelensky met with a bipartisan U.S. Congressional delegation including Donald Norcross, Celeste Mello, and James Panetta.

The President thanked the American delegation for visiting Kyiv and Odessa. He highlighted U.S. support in countering Russian aggression, particularly regarding the supply of F-16 aircraft to Ukraine.

“I thank the American people for their crucial support to Ukraine from the start of this war. We are grateful to President Joe Biden, both houses of Congress, and both parties. We greatly appreciate Congress’s decision to support our army,” said Volodymyr Zelensky.

The meeting focused on enhancing the country’s defense capabilities and addressing the urgent needs of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. The President emphasized the importance of acquiring additional air defense systems to effectively protect civilians and critical infrastructure and the need for expanded training missions for Ukrainian pilots and technicians in the U.S.

The parties also discussed Ukraine’s progress toward Euro-Atlantic integration. The President thanked the United States for its active role in preparing and conducting the first Peace Summit in Switzerland and outlined further steps to implement its results and advance the Peace Formula.
