In times of war, the agricultural sector has become the basis of Ukrainian exports and, accordingly, the guarantor of foreign exchange earnings from trade. Four of the top 5 positions of goods that Ukraine sold last year were food and agricultural products. The agrarian part last year amounted to 53% of total exports. The total value of products exceeds USD 23 billion.
This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotskyy on air of the national marathon Yedyni Novyny (United News).
He noted that next year the same amount of foreign exchange earnings is expected as in 2022.
According to Taras Vysotskyy, Ukraine exports not only raw materials but also processed products. The export of livestock products to the EU, in particular poultry and eggs, has also grown. Ukraine has an absolute record for the sale of dairy products to Europe. There is also an increase in bioethanol exports to the EU.Â
