The Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of France and the United Kingdom, General Thierry Burkhard and Admiral Anthony Radakin, met in Kyiv with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukraine’s military leadership.

This was reported by Thierry Burkhard on the social media platform X.

"Kyiv. Meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, together with my colleague Anthony Radakin," wrote the French general. According to him, the purpose of the French-British delegation’s meetings during their visit to Ukraine is "to maintain resolute support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, enabling them to continue their fight," "to define a long-term strategy for the restoration and transformation of the army model," which is the primary guarantee of the country's security, as well as "to discuss security guarantee options developed by France and the UK within the international coalition to support Ukraine after the implementation of a ceasefire regime."

"Together, we aim to ensure a sustainable and lasting peace in Ukraine — a necessary condition for the security of the European continent," added Burkhard.
