Cooperation in the restoration of Ukraine and the implementation of development projects were discussed during a meeting in Kyiv, on September 29, by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Vice-President of the European Investment Bank Tereza CzerwiÅska.
As Denys Shmyhal noted, Ukraine expects that the EIB would be among the leaders in large-scale post-war reconstruction, the economic recovery, and infrastructure of our country.
The parties also discussed the financing and completion of the project of the first concession highway Krakovets â Lviv and the expansion of the infrastructure of the western border of Ukraine.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked the EIB for the allocation of EUR 1.59 billion of financial support to our state. The first tranche was transferred to Ukraine this month: "These funds are another significant contribution to financing the urgent needs of our country."
As Tereza CzerwiÅska reported, the second tranche in the amount of more than EUR 550 million would be directed at the request of the Government of Ukraine in the near future.
