The project of the Kharkiv studio Obys AIM AI Modernism Of Kharkiv has been awarded the title of the best website by Awwwards. Their work reinterprets the achievements of Kharkiv modernism using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

The team Obys undertook research and reinterpretation of the achievements of key Kharkiv modernists using modern artificial intelligence technologies.

The project is based on the works of Ukrainian artists Anatoly Petritsky, Vadym Meller, Oleksandr Khvostenko-Khvostov, and the group "Seven plus three." Among the artists are Kharkiv modernists Vasyl Yermilov and Boris Kosarev. Using AI, they obtained images of what architecture inspired by these works would look like.

"This experiment with artificial intelligence delves into the contemporary reinterpretation of the Kharkiv modernist movement from 1910 to 1930," the project team said.

Drawing inspiration from avant-garde artists and intellectuals of that era, we use the most advanced methods to reinterpret the ideas of the artists. We aim to offer new perspectives on the artistic, architectural, and cultural heritage of Kharkiv modernism.

Every month, the Awwwards team selects eight websites with the best design and development solutions for the title of "Site of the Month." Awwwards users can vote for the site they like the most. These votes then influence the jury's decision, which announces the best site of the month.

This month, the project by Obys received the title of the best website. Last year, the Kharkiv studio also won this award for the website of the online museum "Art Against War in Ukraine," which tells the story of the Russian-Ukrainian war through artistic works. At that time, Obys was awarded "Site of the Day" not only on the Awwwards platform but also on FWA and CSSDA.
