The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and NATO are strengthening cooperation in the field of innovation

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Valerii Churkin and the head of NATO's innovation programme NATODIANA, Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre, discussed aspects of developing cooperation.

Valerii Churkin held a meeting in Kyiv with a delegation that also included representatives of the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine thanked Sweden and NATO for all the support provided in the fight against Russian aggression. "Sweden and the Swedish people are true friends of Ukraine," said the Deputy Minister.

The Chairman of the NATODIANA programme, Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre, emphasized that Ukraine's experience in implementing defense innovations is very important for his organization.

"We are watching you and your work. We also want to know how else we can support you," said Dennis Gyllensporre.

 

DIANA (the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic) is an organization founded by NATO to identify and enhance innovative capabilities within the Alliance.

DIANA provides companies with resources and expertise to develop technologies aimed at overcoming challenges in the field of defense and security.

Valerii Churkin informed the delegation about the development of unmanned systems in Ukraine and their role in countering Russian aggression. In particular, he spoke about the cooperation between the state and the private sector in the development of this field.

He emphasized that Ukraine is open to cooperation with foreign partners, particularly in the exchange of technologies and the creation of joint manufacturing enterprises.
