The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption has opened public access to the Unified State Register of persons who have committed corruption or corruption-related offenses, taking into account security aspects. This was announced by the NAPC press service.

Ukraine has been in a state of war for over a year and a half, but this hasn't stopped its progress towards achieving a victory for integrity and, therefore, zero tolerance for corruption.

With the onset of full-scale invasion, state agencies, including the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NAPC), had to restrict access to various registers, including the Unified State Register of persons who have committed corruption or corruption-related offenses.

However, there is significant public interest in opening up the data from this Register. The lack of access to such information significantly complicates the activities of government agencies and other organizations, especially in appointing candidates to relevant positions, conducting public procurement, and other legal transactions.

By restoring access to the Register, NAPC has taken security aspects into account. The National Agency received confirmation from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine that there were no risks in reopening access to the Register, provided that information regarding the person's workplace and position at the time of committing a corrupt or corruption-related offense is not disclosed.

"Open data is a powerful tool for integrity and, therefore, anti-corruption. The opening of data from the Register of individuals who have committed corruption or corruption-related offenses demonstrates that, taking security aspects into account, data from the Declaration Register can also be opened," said NAPC Chairman Oleksandr Novikov.
