The Defense Committee of the Bulgarian Parliament today, on December 7, approved the provision of non-operational anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine, as well as assistance in training pilots on F-16 aircraft.

This information was reported by Bulgarian National Radio.

It is noted that after prolonged debates, the Defense Committee supported the proposal to provide non-operational anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine.

The proposal, signed by three parties, also includes Bulgaria providing assistance in training Ukrainian pilots on F-16s, including the use of Bulgarian airspace.

The proposals of the three parties involve Bulgaria transferring non-operational, outdated portable anti-aircraft missile systems and various types of anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine.

Bulgaria will host the training of up to four Ukrainian infantry or mechanized battalions, with a total of 160 military personnel, and will also participate in the training of Ukrainian F-16 pilots.

The decision of the Defense Committee is also expected to be discussed in the plenary session hall. The report suggests that, considering the emergency defense committee meeting held on Thursday, the proposal for additional military assistance to Ukraine will be presented in the chamber very soon.
