The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Annalena Baerbock in Kyiv.

 The Head of State informed her in detail about the situation at the frontline and the priority defense needs of Ukraine. During the meeting, the parties discussed the joint initiative of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Defense of Germany to find additional Patriot and other air defense systems for our country. They also talked about the possibility of additional anti-aircraft missile systems from Germany protecting Ukrainian skies in the near future.

“We are very grateful for the military support and financial assistance. We count on your further support. Our countries have very good relations. We are grateful to the German society for supporting Ukraine, for hosting our people,” Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized.

The President praised the support of the Ukrainian Peace Formula by Germany and the confirmation of personal participation in the inaugural Peace Summit on June 15-16 in Switzerland by Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

During the meeting, the parties additionally discussed the progress of Ukraine towards EU membership and the organization of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2024) that will be held in June in Berlin, they also agreed on steps aimed at filling it with specific projects.

This is Annalena Baerbock's seventh visit to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.
