Rescuers plan to finish sorting out the debris at the site of the rocket strike in the center of Vinnytsia today. As a result of the tragedy, 52 people were killed and hospitalized. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Denys Monastyrsky, during a briefing in Vinnytsia.
"Today, another tragedy happened, another war crime by the terrorist state of Russia, the war criminal Putin. There was an arrival of rockets in the center of Vinnytsia. At 10:12 an air alert was announced. At 10:43 an explosion occurred in Vinnytsia, rockets hit the car park. Already 5-7 minutes after the explosion, the police, rescuers and emergency doctors were at the scene of the tragedy. The remains of two Kalibr missiles were found here. A total of 4 missiles were fired; two of them were shot down by air defense, two, unfortunately, reached their target. As a result, there are casualties. 91 people consulted doctors, and 52 of them were hospitalized. All of them are in Vinnytsia hospitals. There are enough doctors, blood, and equipment to help the victims. The police received 42 reports of missing persons," said Denys Monastyrsky.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that most of the dead people were those who were on the street during the air raid.
According to him, 36 civilian infrastructure objects were damaged due to the rocket attack.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also noted that the rescuers will be able to finish sorting out the debris already today.
"More than 100 employees of the State Emergency Service and municipal services of the city are actively working. Today, by the end of the day, the last number of those who will be found will be clear," added Denys Monastyrsky.
