Counter-intelligence of the Security Service exposed another member of the LPR terrorist organization. He took an active part in military operations against Ukrainian troops east of our country.
Then he hid from justice for a long time in the temporarily occupied part of the Luhansk region and later left for the Russian Federation.
In the course of a multi-stage special operation, Ukrainian counterintelligence officers located him and detained him in Odesa, where he hoped to "lie down."
According to the investigation, the perpetrator is a resident of the southern region who left for Rostov-on-Don in March 2015. There he joined an illegal armed group called "Angel".
Among other things, this group secretly supplied weapons and ammunition to the terrorists of the so-called "LPR" under the guise of "humanitarian" cargo from Russia.
While in the ranks of the militants, he was engaged in the logistical support of the "Pryzrak (The Ghost)" brigade, which was part of the 2nd occupation corps of the Russian Federation in the captured areas of the Luhansk region.
In addition, the attacker took a direct part in preparing "staged" stories for the information resources of the Kremlin. During propaganda activities, he used his own "example" to popularize terrorist groups and called for their support among local residents.
So far, the investigators of the Security Service have notified the former militant of suspicion under part 1 of Art. 258-3 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The court chose him as a preventive measure in the form of detention.
The special operation to uncover and detain the perpetrator was carried out by the SSU of the Odessa region under the coordination of the Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service and the procedural leadership of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
