Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation defend the country's territorial integrity as part of combat units, and investigators and operatives systematically identify traitors and collaborators who, in martial law, cooperate with representatives of the aggressor country. Even those still in the temporarily occupied territories do not go unnoticed by investigators. Each fact is carefully studied and a procedural decision is made on it
Since the beginning of the hot phase of Russia's war against Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigations has instituted 154 criminal proceedings for treason and 81 criminal proceedings for collaboration.
Among the defendants are the heads of village councils; deputies of different levels; officials; judges, law enforcement officers, and servicemen.
The Kramatorsk Territorial Department of the Bureau investigates most cases of traitors. 109 proceedings were opened for treason, 74 - for collaborative activities.
On the fact of treason, the vast majority of cases involve law enforcement officers. Kramatorsk DBR investigators are also investigating criminal proceedings against an employee of one of the forestries who began cooperating with the occupiers.
Bureau Poltava initiated 15 criminal proceedings for treason, 1 - for collaboration. Among the defendants: law enforcement officers, deputies of local councils and the chairman of one of the district courts.
Bureau Melitopol initiated 18 proceedings. For treason - 16, collaboration - 2.
Bureau of Mykolayiv - initiated 8 proceedings. For treason - 4, collaboration - 4.
Among the defendants are three servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who, in 2014, during the annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by Russian aggressors, betrayed their oaths and fled. In February 2022, the deserters "returned" to Ukraine as part of the Russian army to conduct hostilities in the Mykolayiv region. In early March, the traitors were detained.
Bureau Lviv - initiated 6 proceedings for treason and Bureau Kyiv - 5 proceedings for treason and collaboration.
