The involvement of law enforcement officers is being checked
Investigators of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigations in Mykolayiv exposed two residents of the Odessa region who organized illegal business and "helped" conscripts to travel to Moldova. They took 4.5 thousand US dollars from the "client" per person for their services.
The State Bureau continues to block such channels under martial law resolutely. Bureau officers detained the intruders near the state border after receiving money from the "client".
The issue of informing the detainees about the suspicion of illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and choosing a measure of restraint is currently being resolved.
The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 9 years. Also, information on participation in illegal business of Odessa region law enforcement officers is checked.
The Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office carries out procedural management of pre-trial investigations in criminal proceedings.
Since the beginning of the Russian aggression, the State Bureau has intensified its work on the Ukrainian borders. In particular, the channels of illegal border crossing by men trying to evade mobilization are exposed. More than 20 such channels have been identified in different regions of Ukraine.
Unfortunately, when most Ukrainian citizens are ready to defend the Motherland, some want to escape, and those who want to earn extra money. In cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, the Bureau is resolutely suspending such actions.
