On August 5, a meeting of Minister Mykola Solskyi with representatives of the World Food Program (WFP) was held at the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
During the meeting, the parties discussed areas of support for the agricultural sector of Ukraine and further cooperation in agriculture.
WFP Regional Director Corinne Fleisher noted that the organization is interested in cooperating with the Government of Ukraine. Cooperation involves supporting Ukrainian farmers and providing humanitarian aid to countries suffering from a food crisis
Mykola Solskyi emphasized that Ukraine is looking for all opportunities to support agriculture.
The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) is the largest humanitarian organization in the world. In Ukraine, it works to meet the basic needs of the population affected by the war: it provides assistance to the affected population in the form of food rations and bread deliveries near the front line and in areas where food is unavailable, as well as cash assistance for internally displaced persons, where banks and markets are functioning . In July, WFP supported a total of 2.5 million people in Ukraine with food or cash.
