The Union of Ukrainian Organizations in Germany has signed an agreement with the Federal Employment Agency of Germany, under the Ministry of Labor, to collaborate in supporting the employment of Ukrainians.

The focus of the agreement is on recognizing Ukrainian diplomas and enabling citizens to work in their professional fields, according to Rostyslav Sukenyk, head of the Union, in a statement to the Ukrainian World Congress.

"Our negotiations with the German authorities over the past year have led to important agreements that simplify the process of diploma recognition and employment for Ukrainians," he said.

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion, many Ukrainian refugees in Germany have not only found jobs but have also learned German in their respective fields.

"However, there are still challenges, particularly for those with years of professional experience who cannot verify their qualifications with official documents," Sukenyk added.

The Union is actively working on mechanisms that will allow such professionals to work in their fields or related industries.

The new agreement will provide Ukrainian citizens with more opportunities to secure employment in their areas of expertise in Germany. The next meeting between the Ukrainian community and the Employment Agency is scheduled for the end of October.
