American company Tetra Tech, funded by the governments of the USA and Canada, has transferred mine-clearing vehicles and other equipment to the State Special Transport Service (SSTS) in Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy.

The equipment includes four GCS-100 mine-clearing vehicles with attachment kits, trucks for transporting these vehicles, JCB excavators, and minibuses for personnel. The total value of the purchased equipment exceeds $5.8 million.

In addition to the machinery and equipment, Tetra Tech has provided the State Special Transport Service with personal protective equipment for sappers who will be operating the mine-clearing vehicles.

"Some of the equipment purchased by our partners is made in Ukraine, including personal protective gear, mounts for transporting mine-clearing vehicles, and armor for excavators," the statement reads.

The GCS-100 is a remotely controlled lightweight mine-clearing machine capable of efficiently clearing areas of anti-personnel mines, even in hard-to-reach places. It can clear up to 5,000 square meters of territory per day.

As of July 16th, the State Special Transport Service has surveyed over 115,000 hectares of territory and disposed of more than 178,000 explosive objects.
